my love bound me with a kiss

My love bound me with a kiss
That I should never go a stray
When I felt so sweet a bliss
I had less power to part away

For I heard Jupiter's canary tell
In my ear it softly fell faint
That kisses were a seal of love
But I wonder if I heard it from Venus's dove
Oh muse not then then though it be so
Kisses make men loath to go
From civil and polite to beasts
Like animals

Devour wherefore I did this inflame
My desires, heat my blood
Instantly to quench the same
And Jupiter's arrow constructed of flame
Darted into my heart
It's never been the same

For now I'm a bit of a beast
And common sense doesn't show or play
In my brain that I fell in love yet again
