The calm after the storm

Been through so many sleepless nights

The rain & thunder fall and strike me

No longer wonder what might have been

Or ponder why

I feel the calm after the storm

And I know it's because of you

You have never left me or my side

I'm grateful your with me

My bed side table is a mess & cluttered

My gorgeous lamp retro lamp is dusty

And now can muster the energy to clean it

And enter the light

The calm after the storm

I'm finally at peace

I'm not asking anymore questions

Of what's next or what will happen to me

I'm finally happy in the charming 

Yet ferocious windy city

I have longed for a home

And this place is always with me

This is the calm I feel after the storm
