In America
You can admire a stain on America
You can desire what they have
You can perspire for nothing
And carry a disease in a handbag
You can be the the disease yourself
You can beg and plead for some help
But I'm not listening
I won't come around to argue
I separate people from their profession
Artists from their craft
You can dream to be a housewife
In chiffon dresses and stiletto heels
False lashes and over exposed
On the billboard and on our phones
You can dream to be an athlete
Be disrespectful and hazardous
You can feel they're worth the praise
I can assure you they're not all that
You can dream to be the president
Some have never had intellectual curiosity
Some have never cared bout anything
But themselves and their fortune
You can dream in America
It is what seems till we're fed up
It's sometimes a machine in America
But, You can sleep safely in America!
Sometimes it's nightmares but eventually
We find the right path to future
And we are blessed in America
The only place there's a future for youth
In America
The only place you can be you in America
